Common questions about construction site monitoring in Senegal
Everything the diaspora and developers ask us before handing over the monitoring of their site: how it works, prices, proof and trust.
How it works
How does SEETLU actually work?
An approved SEETLU technician visits your site as often as your plan says: once a month, every week, three times a week or every day. They record the real progress, the visible quality of the work and the materials on site, and take their photos in the SEETLU app.
The report is reviewed and approved by SEETLU, then it reaches your client area and your inbox within 24 hours. Wherever you live, you know exactly where your build stands and you make decisions based on facts.
What happens at the first inspection?
You ask for a quote with the town, the surface area, the type of building, your phone number and the date that suits you. We reply the same day.
On the first visit, the technician takes full stock of the site: what has really been built, the condition of what is there, and what has been done compared with the money you have already sent. That is the starting point: a set of facts everyone can look at.
How do I receive the reports?
In your client area and by email. There you will find all your sites, every report with its photos, the timeline of visits, before and after views, your quotes, your invoices and a summary every month.
Every photo carries the date and time (in Dakar and where you live), the GPS position and a sealed fingerprint that reveals any edit. Every report has its own “Check this report” link. For questions, our team is still on WhatsApp, in French, English, Italian, Spanish or Wolof.
Which towns do you cover?
All of Senegal. SEETLU works with a network of approved technicians in every region: Dakar, Thiès, Mbour, Touba, Saint-Louis, Kaolack, Ziguinchor and beyond. They are trained by SEETLU and assessed at every visit.
The distance between you and your site is not a problem: that is exactly what we are here for.
Prices and payment
How much does site monitoring cost?
For a residential build, plans are monthly, up to 100 m², then priced per m² above that.
Essentiel: 39,000 FCFA a month, one visit a month.
Confort: 99,000 FCFA a month, one visit a week. Before each instalment you pay your builder, we check that stage on site.
Premium: 300,000 FCFA a month, three visits a week and one site camera included.
Quotidien: a visit every day, 5 or 7 days a week, with a full report every week, from 450,000 FCFA a month.
Apartment buildings and commercial projects: quoted the same day. One-off services: diagnostic visit at 39,000 FCFA (up to 300 m²), land check, cost estimate, compliance audit, technical inspection and design plans. Full details are on our pricing section.
How does payment work?
You pay SEETLU invoices by Wave, Orange Money or bank transfer. Every payment gets a numbered receipt, which you will also find in your client area.
That payment is for the SEETLU service only. The money for your build goes straight from you to your builder: SEETLU never receives it, never holds it and never passes it on.
Can I change plans along the way?
Yes, at any time. Many clients move up to a weekly visit, or more, during the critical stages (foundations, slab, roof), then go back to a monthly visit for the finishing work. Just drop us a line.
Is there a minimum commitment?
It is your choice. Without a commitment, you can stop whenever you like with 30 days' notice, because our visits are planned ahead. With a commitment, you pay less: 10 % off for 6 months, 15 % off for 12 months.
Our aim stays the same: we want you to stay because the service is useful to you, not because a contract ties you in.
Trust and proof
Why pay for monitoring when my family already keeps an eye on the site?
Your relative is doing their best, but they almost always lack two things: the technical knowledge to spot a badly built wall or a slab with too little cement, and the independence to say no to the mason, because social pressure makes that impossible.
We have no family on your site, no friendship with the contractor and nothing to sell you. Our job is to tell you what we see, with the proof to back it up.
People say scams have exploded with artificial intelligence. Is that true?
Yes, and it is the big change of recent years. With AI tools, anyone can take a photo of an unfinished house and add a floor, tiles or a roof in a few seconds, then send it to you as proof of progress. A photo received on WhatsApp no longer proves much.
That is why our method relies on a technician who is really there on site, and on photos taken in the SEETLU app: date and time, GPS position and a sealed fingerprint that reveals any edit. The “Check this report” link lets you check it. AI can fake a picture. It cannot lay real bricks or fool someone who is touching the wall.
What if you find out my mason or my relative has misled me?
We set out the facts, with the proof: the real state of the site, what has been built, and the gap with what you were told. We do not play judge or police.
The decisions are yours. With a clear report you can talk things through calmly, pay for each stage only once it has been checked on site, change contractor if you need to, and start again on a sound footing. A hard truth is better than a lie that costs millions.
Do you sell materials or do the building work yourselves?
No, and that is deliberate: SEETLU sells no materials and builds nothing. Our independence is your guarantee: an inspector with nothing to sell you is the only one you can believe. If you are looking for a contractor or materials, we can put you in touch with partners, and the check stays independent: we inspect their work just as rigorously as any mason's.
Important: SEETLU is an independent inspection and reporting service. We observe and document the real state of the works, but we do not manage the site and we are not responsible for the quality of execution, which belongs to the companies and tradespeople you hire.
Practical questions
My build has been at a standstill for months. Can you still help?
Yes, it is actually one of the most common cases. The first visit takes stock of what is there, and the report gives you a clear basis to decide: carry on with the same mason with the site monitored, change mason, or split the funding into stages that you have checked before you pay.
For a one-off assessment, the diagnostic visit costs 39,000 FCFA (up to 300 m²).
Do you monitor commercial projects or large buildings?
Yes. The standard plans cover residential projects: villas, family homes, small buildings. For an apartment building, a commercial project or a developer with several sites, we put together a tailored quote the same day. Ask for your quote or write to us.
How do I get started?
The easiest way: ask for a same day quote with the town, the surface area, the type of building, your phone number and the date that suits you.
You can also message us on WhatsApp at +221 78 750 69 19, email contact@seetlu.com or use the contact form. We reply within 24 hours in French, English, Italian, Spanish or Wolof, then we arrange your first visit.
A question that is not on the list?
Ask our team directly: we reply within 24 hours in French, English, Italian, Spanish or Wolof.
