Why an on site check matters for a build in Dakar
In the Dakar region, many houses and small buildings are built by owners who live abroad. You send the money stage by stage and, to find out how the work is going, you rely on photos from the builder or on a relative who drops by when they can.
A photo received on WhatsApp does not tell you when it was taken, or where, or whether it really shows your plot. Nor does it tell you whether the steel reinforcement matches the plan. Your relative is doing their best, but they do not always have a technical eye, and it is hard for them to contradict the site foreman.
In Dakar, houses often go up one floor at a time, ground plus one, then ground plus two, at the pace of your transfers. With every new request for money, the same question comes back: has what you were told really been done? An independent technician, standing on the site, gives you an answer based on what they saw.

In dark blue: zone 1, with no travel fee for the diagnostic visit.
Diamniadio and the Rufisque, Bargny, Sébikotane corridor have many new builds, often on plots the owner has only seen in photos. Whether your land is in Keur Massar, in Bambilor or near Lac Rose, a technician from the region goes there for you. Is your site somewhere else? See the page Construction site monitoring in Senegal and the map of our network.
What the technician checks at every visit
At every visit, the technician goes through your site item by item:
- Foundations
- Columns and ring beams
- The slab
- Masonry
- The roof
- Second fix: electrics, plumbing, doors and windows
- Finishes: rendering, tiling, painting
If you have sent us the plan, they compare what they observe with what is drawn. They take every photo in the SEETLU app, not with just any camera: that is what makes the photos verifiable.
The report says whether the work observed matches the instalment your builder is asking for. You pay your builder directly, as before. SEETLU checks on site before you decide and never touches the money for your build.
The diagnostic visit: 39,000 FCFA, no travel fee
For a house or a residential building up to 300 m², the diagnostic visit costs 39,000 FCFA. In Dakar, Pikine, Guédiawaye, Rufisque, Keur Massar and Diamniadio there is no travel fee: 39,000 FCFA is all you pay.
The technician records the state of your site, whether it has just started, is moving ahead or has been at a standstill for months. The report arrives within 24 hours and the visit commits you to nothing. To begin, ask for your same day quote with the town, the surface area and the date that suits you.
Your client area and sealed photos
Every photo the technician takes shows the date and time in Dakar and where you live, the GPS position and a fingerprint that reveals any edit: these are sealed photos. The report is reviewed and validated by SEETLU, then it arrives within 24 hours in your client area and by email.
There you find your reports visit after visit, and you watch your house go up even from thousands of kilometres away. Each report has a « Verify this report » link that you can show to your bank.
Monthly monitoring plans
To follow the whole build, plans are monthly, for a residential site up to 100 m², then priced per m² above that: Essentiel at 39,000 FCFA (one visit a month), Confort at 99,000 FCFA (one visit a week) and Premium at 300,000 FCFA (three visits a week and one camera).
